E-brake cables - 7.5 vs 8.8 - the same?

Are the E-brake cables the same design & length on the 7.5 & 8.8 drum rears?

The reason I am asking is I will be removing the 85's 7.5 rear and installing a complete drum to drum 8.8 rear and I was not sure if the my original E-brake cables were compatible with this upgrade or not...?

I re-used the OE cable when I swapped rears in my '83 GT. Not sure about other years but I'd say probably the same as well.

I was able to use mine as well on the 82.

My son and I reused the stock '85 E-brake cables on the rear-end project we just did on his '85 GT, where we replaced his 7.5 with an 8.8.

I was hoping I would not hav eto splurge and buy new E-brake cables just to swap an 8.8 in there... :)

NOw I just hope th eold cables are not damaged or siezed up... LMAO.. ;)
