I see you found the topic on production #s .Although,
options are not broken down into the numbers.
Post some pictures when you get that car back from
the body shop. I would like to see.

What do you look for in order to verify if the car is a Black Magic?

You would have a door tag code for the two tone interior.
"YA"
It may say "Cat" on the body tag too I have heard.

I've got the buck tag off of the 82 BM we've got here at the house...somewhere...
I'd thought that I'd already scanned it and uploaded it. Apparently not.
It, too, is a 5.0/4-speed/sunroof car, although there's little left of it.

Thanks All,
The car went back to the shop to have the stripes put on and finishing flat black. Once I get it back I will post pictures.

Well, they painted the body side moldings, with a two 1/4 stripes. Do not know why, they said they were trying to help out and make it look nice. there was nothing wrong with them before and they were the factory gold. So am not sure if they can get the paint off. but they are going to get it back to the 1/8 stripes, but to me they will still be painted not factory. So pics will be a while yet, if I am ok with how the car turns out.

You can get the paint off if you remove the mouldings....however, I'm sure the moulding around the bumber cover is painted and your not going to be able to remove paint from that.
To remove paint from plastics/rubber, I use "Bleche White", a tire cleaner. You need to soak the part for 24-48hours and the paint will slide right off and NOT hurt the plastic or yellow it or make it cloudy. The problem is that it works so slowly that you can't do it on big pieces or pieces you can't put in a jar or container.
Your best bet is to have them repaint them to be factory correct.

Well I got the car back, they had to repaint the moldings and put the decal stripe back in, (they scuffed the moldings to make sure the painted stayed, so there was no going back). all in all it turned out very nice, if you didn't not know what they did it is hard to tell. So now the complete outside is painted. I have posted pics in the album(2 outside and one of the factory interior), I did not have time to put the badges on, (it is cold up here in WI, so she went to sleep). I will put them on in the spring when I reinstall the gold trx's for the shows. Let me know what you think. :D

I didn't see the photos in the album. Are the listed under caprin1982?
