Alright, my wheels aren't bent, wheels are balanced, tires are good. I get a real bad vivration up above 65mph on any gear, so I don't think it's a driveshaft issue. My steering wheel shakes all over, so does the dash, not to the point where the car is not controlable, but alot to annoy me, I can go up way past 65, but the bad shakin starts at 65. I'm leanin towards bad motor mounts. Only thing that is really makin sense. I got the Energy Suspension tranny mount, so I'm leaning towards the motor mounts. And no it's not brake pulsation..... Just wonderin if you fellas have had this problem or know of any. Laters...

Was the car sitting for awhile? if it was it might have flat spots on the tires and it would feel like a balance problem.

It may be the driveshaft. I had a T-bird fool me a couple weeks ago. I didn't even consider the driveshaft at first, but it ended up being the front u-joint was froze up.

could be a few things...wheel bearings, tie rod ends even a bad strut. Id look into those things before motor mounts.

That's about the right speed for a tire vibration. Try this, speed up beyond the vibration, put it nuetral and then shut the car off and coast back through the vibration (i.e do it with nobody driving behind you for saftey reasons of course).
The empty passenger seat will shake, and your steering wheel may shimmy if it's in the front.
A prop shaft vibration will appear like more of a drone, and my be audible. They usually start around 50-55 mph. Tire vibrations are worse around 60+mph. You'll really feel it in the seat of your pants and it will be a higher frequency vibration.
Driveshaft, could have a high spot, loss of a weight, or pinion angles.
Tires, out of round (square) or missing a weight or need rebalancing. Check for debris (mud) on the inside of the rim, or even globs of grease that may have bled from the nipples on the LCA's.

check the bolts that bolt your drive shaft to the rearend, make sure they are tight.

good point Matt, very common for them to go loose.

That's exactly what the T-bird I mentioned did. It ended up being a u-joint.

Jose, I'm still leaning towards the driveshaft, I see this all the time. try this:
Swap the back tires to the front, and front to back, see if the nature of the vibration changes.
also, take the driveshaft off, turn it a quarter turn, rebolt. If you want, I've got an extra driveshaft you can try out from the parts car, and that one has no vibration issues on that car.

Is it very noticeable in the steering wheel or does it feel like the back is shaking more than the front?
I would try what V8only says, swap the wheels just to see. Check to make sure they are fitting properly.
We had a pair of wheels we were trying to put on my Probe. The bolts lined up but the wheel wasn't the right configuration so it did not sit flush against the rotor. Vibrated like crazy.

ive swapped the tires around, and checked the wheel balances, I got no flat spots on the tires.... The actual vibration is not throughout the whole car. It's not a whole car shake, just in the front end..... I checked the tie rods, struts and so on. I'm not rulling out a driveshaft issue, I may go pick up an aluminum shaft later today, but we will see. But it's odd, I'm thinkin it may be the mounts due to since I swapped my engine out to a newer roller motor, then came the vibration.... I had gotten the earlier motor mounts (yes they are available), but I did not like the quality of em. Anywho, I'm not irritated bout the shakin, but I would like it to go away......lol see ya

have you done a clutch change recently? i had a vibration when the previous owner didn't put the locator dowels back in the flywheel.
tranny mount could also be bad and cause a miss alignment in the drive angle. it vibrates just like that as well

if it's just coming from your front, it's not gonna be a driveshaft issue.
didn't you say you busted a motormount recently. Is that still busted??

Check your tranny fluid level, my stang was doing this a few days before my engine went, I filled up the tranny fluid and it fixed the problem, also check your rear tranny seal where the driveshaft slides in to make sure you arent losing fluid from there.

ok here is how you can check yrou motor mounts, open your hood and have a buddy stand there and look, put the car in reverse, have the E-brake on and give it a litle gas whle letting out the clutch, if the engine lifts you have a broken motor mount.

Well if the shake is in the steering wheel the problem has to be in the front of the car somewhere.
And yes a driveshaft will cause that problem also.
I suppose a motor mount could cause that but it should be worse when you are hammering on the car. When cruising down the highway in 5th gear I dont see the motor wobbling around causing a vibration.
You said that you put a new motor in the car. I suspect that you removed the driveshaft. I'm guesing that it's the driveshaft. One of the yokes/u-joints is froze up.

If its the driveshaft, does the tranny shake? I mean, does the shifter vibrate as bad or worse as the wheel and dash?
Thats what was happening when my 7.5 rear started eating itself. Maybe your rear is going too...
...but when mine went I thought it was in the tranny and not so much the front end.
