I pulled the original TRX wheels off my car when I did the 5 lug swap, now as I see more and more cars with them, I'm starting to wish I'd left it 5 lug and kept hte TRX's, despite the expensive hard to find tires. Anyone else thinking the same thing?

No I don't miss them .
I put them on a car going to the boneyard .
I took off the 13 inch wheels it had .
I wasn't going to pay $120 for each tire .

I been telling people they will miss those wheels eventually. They look right on the car. What's $120/per if you've got a nice car? Big deal. 18" tires for my '89 cost $200 apiece.

Eventually they will repro the TRX wheels I think (in an english size). It was mentioned once.
There are enough people that have requested info about them that I think somebody will do it.

The TRX tires are not very wide for $120 .

We're not talking about tire width, profile, or even performance here; TRXs were original equipment, and they just look right on unmodified four-eyes. You can't put just any tires on them, but that doesn't take away from their appeal. Actually adds to it, from my perspective. I say original TRXs on a four-eye indicate that the car has been well cared for. Not many beaters have TRXs on them cuz (all together now) the tires are too expensive.

I want some for $120, all the ones I have found are $220-$289 :x . But that is for the 255/55 size tire. In z and zr rated.....

To get them imported here in Canada the best I can find is $1100 USD per set from Michelin directly, plus shipping, tire tax, sales tax, mounting, balance, and duty fees. That's for a set of 200/65/R390 because the Michelin rep tells me the 190's have been out of production for a few years now.

I think it was f4fntm's post that made it really sink in how right they look, and several ford media photos from back in the day with my identical car and trx's.

Coker tire makes them, to get them in the size I want would be $400, I think I'll just stick with my cobra rs, I realy dont like the way TRX wheels look that much.

not that people drive their cars in the winter, but I personally feel the TRX's are the best snow tire I've ever driven on.
they're expensive, hard to find, but they are smooth, quiet, handle fairly well, and are good in all sorts of weather.

I like my turbines and polycasts fine :D But if I were ever offered cheap TRX's they would be on my car instantly, I love how they look... I wonder if an original rim could be modified to fit standard tires... Like if you took it to a specialty shop (like on that widens rims or casts rims) and asked them what they could do with it, if there ever was a set that came out in standard tire form, I would jump on a set, they look badass, wonder what they'd look like in a 16x9 casting....

Yes. Somebody was selling a car on this board with reworked TRX wheels. The centers were cut out and welded into english sized rims. I asked about them and the seller had no info as a previous owner did it.
So it *can* be done. It may be more hassle than its worth.

I personally think the TRX tires and rims look great on an early fox car. My pace car has 220/55/390's that i bought off ebay for $150 shipped to me. I bought the correct 190/65/390 set for spares off ebay on two different auctions. I paid a total of $200 shipped. They set in the basement in a dark corner still with the factory plastic covering them. The Michelins can be found. My next Pace Car will have cobra r's because I plan to rod not restore it. Just my 2 cents...... :)
