Bruno and I put the clutch in tonight... and adjusted it since the previous owner had it adjusted ALL THE WAY OUT. The flywheel was turned... a few times to make it right.. but it is still balanced.

Tomorrow, need to fill the tranny and install it, along with the exhaust. Also need to route a new speedo cable. Hopefully, I will see the track soon in "ol' peg leg". With a new clutch, I know that it is going to be learning how to launch.

Goal: Better 60', resulting in better ET. Maybe a few more MPH...

Next year, the 4.10's (planned right now, unless I rebuild the motor) will be fun. If I rebuild, may need to step it up a notch....

nice work. I really seem to enjoy clutch jobs, seriously. It allows me to escape in my own world for hours and forget everything else.

refresh me, what clutch did you decide on?? 86+ style I assume right?

Negative. Did the stock replacement (lifetime warranty).

I may upgrade later, but this will last this year and next year (if I don't change).

It's gonna make it alot more fun to launch. When you took it last time it was easier to launch then your sable, it didn't have enough clutch to get you in trouble. But,, now it might be a different story!!!!! I think once we finish it (and fix the fuel problem) we should call Buschur to make an appointment. I'd like to see what kind of power it'll muster up.

120 to the wheels

Good choice ... years ago both my friend and I used stock-replacement clutches with lifetime warranties from Kragen's to the tune of 11.90s with as low as 1.59 60 ft times ... if you have it adjusted right - it will certainly hold up!

That's pushing it.... I am hoping for triple digits, let alone 120!

Hey Kevin,

Maybe you next set-up should me a tweaked powerstroke!!!!!!
That would make all the power you could ever want  !!!!

Granted the front/rear weight bias may be off a bit.

I hate doing quadrants. I did one in a friends car, with the pedals still in, the drivers seat in and the car jacked up about 18"........oh, I'm 6'3" and have a bad back...lol

I'm thinking now would be the time to replace the quadrant on my 83 while the interior is still out of it...

After last night's goof ups, we have it all together now...

Need to re-adjust the clutch (see thread in Mods and Mechanical) and fix the blown PV. Wanted to go to track tomorrow... @#$@#$@#$

New clutch grabs nice, just way to high off of the floor....
