So this morning I decided to visit my local wrecking yard for kicks and, like usual, I picked another part that I wasn't planning to buy....

a 140 MPH Certified Calibrated cluster out of an SSP for $35!

And I met a dude driving an '83 Crimsom Cat too. My Capri has a new addition and a new friend! Today was a good day.

Not such a bad thing when you think about it ;) Bad if you want parts, but good that they're staying outof the yards :)

I never thought of it that way. I would much rather not be able to find parts, than to see a ton of 4 Eyes in the yard! TL

I really don't care if they crush every non-Turbo GT non-SVO, 4cyl and 6cyl in existence, I really couldn't care... those cars are completely undesirable to me and only serve to bring down the values of our rare original v8 cars.

IF they are non restorable.Doesn't matter if its a 4,6,or 8.Interior,exterior,driveline.....all of it. There are many people on this board with 4's and 6's that could use engine parts or tranny parts.

I'm not yelling or arguing, just making a statement. :) dont want anyone to get the wrong idea, since there is no "tone" in typing. All of you have a wonderful Monday,i have the next two days(actually nights) off :D

for once we agree :) Out of respect for people who do own them, I'm always willing to help, but I don't shed a tear when I see them in the yards. I only get distraught when I come across svo's and 85/86 gt's etc

I don't mind seeing SVO's ... they made almost 10,000 of them during their production run and are quite easy to come by. What I don't like seeing are ex-CHP cars, 82-86 5.0 coupes, 82 GT's, things of that nature. Too many beaners get their hands on the 85-86 GT's unfortunately. Luckily, most SVO owners are "in the know" about their cars' rarity.

There is an 82 gt in the beach/ball yard right now, air dam and all (a little too cracked for my liking) has what WAS before greasy hands got to them nice grey halo's too, looks like it could have been driven in and parked, such a damn shame. I love the 82's

I am a huge supporter of the 4 and 6 cylinder mustangs and capris. I have no want for a v8. I know my opinion is probably not the majority but it seems like so many people have v8's and the 4's and 6's are just getting crushed, parted, and destroyed that they will become the true rarities after a few more years. It will take a heck of a lot of crushing to make them rare but it will happen. I like the uniqueness of my 4 cylinder capri. It's good on gas too!

Anyway, you can jump down my throat all you want to about me loving the 4's and 6's but hey, this is simply my opinion and I am not saying anyone is wrong for hating or disliking the 4's and 6's.

nothing at all remotely wrong with that.

Personally, I'll never drive nothing other than a v8, but I can understand others with differing opinions. ANYTHING can be converted to a v8 in thefuture anyhow ;)

I know this is a little late in saying, but...

I'll be lucky to see a 4 eye at the junkyard today.

I was at a local junkyard last Saturday morning and the yard had a row of 4eyed cars lined up for me to check out. 2 79-81's(couldn't tell the year on any of them, cause the door jambs were either painted over or the driver's door was missing), 3 82 or 83's(most of these were in decent shape, but all were missing the drivetrain), and 2 85 coupes(I'm going back next weekend to buy/steal one of the interiors out of these prizes, don't really care at this point that both interiors are blue)
All it takes is to find that "right" junkyard to get your parts.
