I am looking to upgrade the front of my Capri and eventually the rear drums to 10". I am wondering if anyone has upgraded their 4 eyes to the 87 and later front disc and if so what is needed? Thanks Capri

Just did one this weekend on my buddys 85GT. That making it my 4th front brake conversion I've done to older 4-eyes to the 87-93 brakes.

You might as well get the 73mm calipers also - you can get rebuilt ones cheap at the parts store - Lincoln Mark VII ( Ithink). Easy bolt on and they do make a difference.

you can always upgrade your fronts for now to SN95 which ultimately is a better design then the 87-93 fox front brakes and then use ford aerostar rear axels/drums if your not ready to convert the rears to disc. You can go the cobra brakes up front if you want, but IMO it's over kill for regular street driving. Rear disc upgrades too don't offer too much more braking power, but to some everything counts. If you don't want the cobra fronts, just go with SN95 V6 brakes, you'll need the whole hub assembly with the spindle and caliper as well as the caliper bolts and a set of maximum motorsport SS brake lines so that you can bolt the sn95 caliper to your fox body hard lines. If you go with the V6 brakes with drums in the rear(for now) you wont have to upgrade your brake booster, proportioning valve, or master cylinder until you convert to rear disc. But then again I know someone with rear discs on his 89 coupe with the stock fox brake booster and his brake pedal effort is good, it's not like stepping on cement.
Oh and one last thing, don't take a hammer to your shock tower if you do a brake booster upgrade. There are clean and professional ways to message the shock tower, a hammer is not the solution. PM twister and ask him how he messaged his shock tower, he did an excellent job at it.
