thanks zap. i was thinking no one was gonna reply. So i need a conical lug with a 60 deg taper. Fits a 1/2in stud with a 20 thread. Appreciate your help.
Nice stang by the way! I am hoping to get mine something like that soon. Ive got Ford c springs that are 1in/.75in drop along with new lakewood rear shocks 50/50, new cobra Rs 17x8/9 with 255-40s hopefully going on tomarrow or friday. Got sub frame conn to be welded in by next week. Gonna spray the floor pans/tranny hump with sealing/sound and vib dampining spray then install New carpet asap after the welding, new seat sliders to fix the broken drivers side one, 2 gauge pillar pod with h2o temp and voltmeter, the darkest tint I can stand on the windows next week, and another few comfort goodies inbetween including a custom box in the rear for at least 1 12 maybe 2 and an overhead speaker housing above the rear seats. I cant wait to get on it!
Well thanks for the help.

Thanks, Its for 5-lug wheels though so you'll have some spares of one type or another if you still have the 4-lug setup. Still cheaper than buying sets of 5 at a parts store. Usually needing to hit several stores to get all the ones you'll need because they never have enough for the whole car.

I have 1 12" in my hatch. I custom made my own box from MDF to fit below the cover so its 100% consealed. I thinks its more than enough. Cant afford the amp I need to properly push one good speaker let alone two. Underpowered distorted bass is one of my pet peeves from the ghetto import crowd.

Yeah thats exactly the type of box I was palnning on. I figured Id bell out the middle to hold the 12 and then recess the outter edges to make more space. Just gotta get the dimentions drawn up for the right air space inside. Im going from a chrysler concorde that I had a killer system in to this stang that Im wanting a decent sound quality but nothing more. My corde was dead quiet inside where as the stang isnt quite so nice inside. Can you shoot me a pict of your box so I can get an idea of your set up? email is joelliott82@hotmail.com
I plan on using 3/4in MDF I have from my last box, but Im thinking about trying 1/2in for weight. I want to run a JL 12 too so Im looking to get a new amp. My current ones might work for a while but I wanna run 1 nice big amp to save space.
I am also thinking about getting a cheep set of open end lugs for now and ordering the set above and swapping them out when they arrive. I wanna have my new tires and wheels on when they align the suspension so everything fits nice. Thanks again for your help zap.
Later.

I have no pics of it right now. Its not even carpeted. I'm using a Kicker Solo-Baric to save space. It only needs 12"x12"x12" of space so Its the smallest box you'll likely ever see thats the correct internal volume. I can only describe it as a truck box that fits behind the seat of a pickup but isnt angled. Its one of the earliest 4 ohm round speakers rated @ 600 watts RMS, pushed by an old Phoenix Gold amp pushing maybe 240w. I havnt bought new stereo gear in about 5-6 years.

I used 3/4" MDF for the front face and 1/2" for the rest.

The open ended lugs should work fine but be careful to not push too deep with the tire iron as to not scratch up the inside socket of the lug holes. The open eneded lugs are pretty short.

This is what I used on mine. Great value. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=FMS-M-1012-K&N=120%20305344you can buy Mcguard(sp?) lug nuts and locking nuts at Pep Boys or Autozone, save on handling charge from summit, and you get them that day.DONT BUY THE CHEAPO'S that are next to mcgard, they are cheaper for a reason,i found out the hard way :x

Thanks guys. I got alittle antsy today and went out to put on the wheels. It looked like it was gonna rain (S FLA every afternoon), so I was in a bit of a hurry. Got the fronts on ok. They look mean too! Got to the rears and realized the tires are gonna rub just a bit on the quad shock. So I ran around and got out my big tool set and started lookin. Got the rear nut off with the 3/4". But I couldnt get to the damn front bolt. And my larger wrenches walked off somewhere over the summer. So I was in a fit. Decided to run the rears as they were today. And I burnt them up too! That was alittle fun! But tomarrow I go to the shop to get all the suspension balancing and alignment done. Hopefully nothing goes wrong and I can leave outa there with a better lookin 85gt.
I cant wait tho. I love messin with this car. All the interior stuff is next after I get my sub frame conn. welded in place hopefully this weekend.
Talk to ya later. And thanks for your help.
