i know someone who owns a Mexican Mustang

pretty wicked too. he says that the innards of the mustang are way different. to start off, the rear axle is a Dana 44 with 3.54 gears not a 7.5 or an 8.8 inch rear. and you think out early 5.0s were weak? their 5.0s only produced 138 hp with 4 barrels (i think). they even had their own version of the SVO, albeit slightly different than ours.

it was basically a '84.5 GT with better handling. plus the reason foe the SVO is cos the Mexican banned all cars that even had a V8 from, 1985 until the introduction of the SN95 bodies in '94

Hey, I'm new here, and as you can see I'm from México and I (actually, it's my dads property) have an '84 Mustang (non SVO). As you all know, it has the capri body, with the bubblehatch, but it has the front end of a mustang. And this is also a mustang, not mine tho. This must be a 83 as it does have the capri front end and two air dam thingies on the hood. The bad thing, is that it was inside the garage so i couldnt take a pic of the front. It's very near my house, so ill go tomorrow... I'm too lazy to go today again.

Cool, a new bread, 8O "fords desing team must have gotten good and drunk one night." Still, thats cool. You get the best of both worlds, the capri bubble, and fenders. But you also get the mustang font end. Again, very sweet. :lol:

Yes, you can add them to the gallery if you want. Sadly, I dont't have any written info about the car. My dad bought it last year, in september, and we have no manual or any other thing about it.

Welcome to the board. :) We don't get to see many of the Mexican mustangs, and for some of us this is a brand-new experience! It does seem like the Ford designers had some fun deciding what body parts to use. "hmm, what would happen if we....", that kind of thing.

i have a couple pages showing the Mexican SVO that i found on a spanish language Mustang site. it looks cool, it has the U.S. SVO nose on a Capri body. i'll have to see if i can find it, and i'll put it in my album.

I too am Mexican guy (well, I was born in LA, but grew up Mexican) and love my Capri. This place is great: you're tough questions are answered, people listen to your rants, and everyone gets along (unless you add an "aero" nose to your 4-ojos.

Yes please! More info on the Mexican Mustang! I think they are the coolest because they have the neat Capri fender flares and a Mustang nose STOCK and it looks real good! Please post mucho pictures. :D
