ok, I know, it is not right to open up a SEALED 1987 model kit of Scott Pruett's 1986 IMSA GTO championship winning Mustang, but I am going to build it! I am looking for pictures of this historical Mustang. I have found 1 good one one the web, and a desent picture taken by my dad in 1985...I am looking for good, detail pictures, such as the engine bay and the cockpit.
Thanks,
Twister

I just picked up an old Scale Auto Enthusiast magazine off eBay that has a build-up with detailed photos of that particular car. I think it was issue #95. If I'm wrong, I'll edit this message later.

I have exchanged emails with a gentleman who is restoring a Trans Am Capri. He also knows of one other that was restored. Those cars got re-bodied and the chassis were just used and re-used. Not an easy task restoring a car like that, but I'm glad there are those with the money and determination to do so. :)

I had a chance to buy this car around 1995 but couldn't really justify the price for a car I could only use on the track.

It had no real history but did have some Roush parts and ran real nice.

I just walked across the street to check in the Roush Museum, (I just transferred to this building 2 weeks ago, and that was my first time in there) but the only IMSA Mustangs I could see in there were several aero nose versions. Alot of other cool stuff in there too though....factory prototypes, retired NASCAR cars, SVO and SVT vehicles, Roush vehicles, classics, etc. I'll have to bring my camera to work next time they have the museum open to the public (employees aren't usually allowed in just to take pics). There was a car show in the parking lot there today around lunch for the people on the American Pony Drive. Some people had cameras and camcorders in there, so some pics might end up on the web.
I'll have to check with some people to find out if there are any four eyed IMSA Mustangs stored somewhere else.

Took some pics today...another car show/open house at work. Just finished scanning them, still need to resize/upload them. I only had a regular camera and a camcorder. The best I could do for the IMSA pics was of a '93 IMSA Cobra. I will have a few up shortly. I'll probably start another thread for other pics.

OK, here's a few:

I might be able to get better interior pics some other time if you want (even though its a later model). The cars are really crammed in close together, so its hard to tell if the pics will turn out well. Really need to get a digital camera.
