8) i would recomend you get the 96 spindle for your 5 lug conversion, for a couple of reasons;
1: better steering geometry
2: better parts availability
also you can use the 94-98 5 lug rotors since they are stock. the spindle bolts in place of your stock spindle, but you may have to change the strut to a early 90's strut as i think the mounting boss for the strut is a bit narrower than yours is.

The 94-95 spindle as best for the fox cars because it doesnt widen the track width like the 96-98 ones do.

yep, what he said. only prob, you said you already have the spindles, but you still haven't told us what kind. 94/95 spindles use different bearings than the 79-86. if you give us more info, we can answer your quesions

i don't know for sure, but it sounds to me like you just wasted some cash. i've never heard of anyone putting ranger spindles in a mustang. i can't say for sure that it won't work because i'm not familiar with a rangers front suspension, just that i have never heard of anyone doing this. as far as the axles, you didn't get both out of the same ranger did ya? what you need is 2 left(drivers) side axles from an 83-92 ranger/bronco II, or you can get 2 right(pass) side axles from an 86-97 aerostar. you will need to pull parts off of two different vehicles to get everything you need. BTW, if you get the parts off of a ranger, make sure to use rangers that have either a 4 cyl or 3.0 v6. the rangers with a 4.0L use 10" drums with a wider axle. the other rangers(4 cyl and 3.0) and aerostar use a 9" drum that is a direct swap onto the rear of a mustang for 5 lugs
one more thing, do yourself a favor and pick up the spindles, hubs and rotors from a 94/95 mustang for the front. you will also need to have the newer style balljoints pressed into your front control arms. then you can use either the 94/95 calipers or even better, the 99+ dual piston PBR calipers

:roll:
Someone didnt do their homework and make sure of what they needed beforehand.
IIRC Ranger uses shocks on the front, not a Macpherson strut so if that is the case I see no way in hell they could work.
If proper research had been done http://mjbobbitt.home.comcast.net/mustang/5lug.html
(found this in about 10 seconds) you would know that you need to have at least the 10" brake spindles from a Fox body Mustang and then you can use the Ranger front rotors.
Or you can use the V8 Fox body 11" brake spindles and Lincoln 5 lug rotors
Or the 94-95 Mustang front brake spindles.
For the rear you need two Ranger DRIVERS SIDE rear axles.
Its a shame really :no:
