Wassup to all in four-eyed land!!! Have a question for all those with more knowledge than me, and i know there are alot of you!!
I have been moding my 84 capri RS, i think i did things kinda backwards really, but i put an Ed-brock rpm performer package from jegs in, a 440cam with 292 sustained lift and duration, and matched lifter set, an rpm performer matched intake and a 650 rpm performer carb, and just for good measure, i killed the old timming chain and put in a ford motorsport performance gear drive set!! A great combo for a car I bought from the original owner and with onlt 55,000 original miles!!! But I didnt stop to think what it was gonna do to the single piped factory exhaust system like I should have!!!!!! So now all this power has no wy to exhaust itself!!!!!!!!! After looking closely,it seems I need to take off the single hump cross-member and install a dual, so I can run the pipes and putin the off road H that I plan to add with a set of headers and flows!! Is this a correct assumption, or is there any other way?????

Help someone???
Budman!!! :?: :?: :?: :?:

You will need to have a passenger side hanger for hte exhaust tips and a double hump crossmember. After doing this you can just install 86-93 5.0 Mustang exhaust. Remember, exahust kits that are for 87-93 5.0 Mustangs will also work on your car. I would be easier if your car was an 85 because they it would already have a passenger side exhaust tip hanger.

Does your 84 come with only 1 muffler instead of 2? If so, then you would also need a hanger to mount the second muffler. Try your best tp use factory brackets and stuff because then you will not need to custom fab any exhaust, you can just bolt up aftermarket exahust kits.

One more thing you'll need is the exhaust hanger that is on the transmission mount. Get one from an 86-93 5.0 Mustangs.

VERY IMPORTANT - Don't forget to reroute the fuel lines - I just changed to dual exaust and harvested fuel lines from a 1990 so they will not get to close to the exhaust pipes.

The rear brake lines need to be rerouted too.
