Hey fellas. Wonderin if you guys could dig up some dirt on my 86' Capri. I have decoded this VIN# numerous times but I still cannot tell what number she is off the assembly line. I don't know if it's a GS or an RS because I couldn't locate the buck tag. I beleive it is located near the rad isn't it? Anyway, shes got a sunroof and a five speed with the 86' GT grey tweed interior. I think shes a rare one because of the few options she does have. Any help would be appreciated.
VIN# 1MEBP79M2GF612208. Also, that "G" may be a "C" in the VIN#.

If its a 5.0 then its a 'G' in the vin.

It was the 12,208 Capri built in '86...all 5.0 cars were actually built like RS models, but the US cars had no designation as such. The Canadian cars had RS mouldings, like the '85's.

My '999' letter from Ford tells me my car is an RS,but it does not say so on the car.It does have a GS emblem on the hatch,But I'm trying to find out what features this includes,if any.
