Can someone help me with the VIN number.

IT is a 82 Mustang hatch - i mainly would like to know what engine it came with (i got it without an engine). All the othere stuff would be wonderful also.

:x Thanks for the information. I was told that this car had a V8 when i purchased it. Built a motor and all kinds of goodies and went to put the motor in, didnt work. I just wanted to verify it with somebody that new what the VIN numbers meant. Thanks for all the help

One reason a V8 won't fit is if the front lower frame ("K-member") is original to the vehicle, it will not allow anything but an I6 to bolt in. The frame is unique to the I6 whereas the I4, V6, and V8 all use the same frame.

my car had the i6 and all i did was put 93 convertiable motor mounts and it worked perfect hope i could help
