Anyone ever had experience taking out sliding windows from doors and can explain it? Or if anyone has a diagram? Any help would be greatly appreciated? I've never done it before and have severe scratches in both windows..I've got replacements, but not sure as to really how your suppose to remove them??
Thank you everyone

sliding windows?
you mean the door glass? or roll up quarter glass (like a convertible)?
or do you mean true sliding windows like the old International Scouts, or sliding inserts like on a Delorean or Countach?

Ive replaced the glass in a 84 firebird.......not at all like a fox chassi but i bet the process is similar. First take the interior pieces off of the door. Unhook all the bolts holding the slider rails for the glass. Take off the weather striping from the door. The glass i removed was a broken window so it was easy to get it out. You will have to try sliding the rollers out of the rails with the window at differnt heights. It worked for me about halfway up. You probly wont have to take the door off even though i did. (firebirds are hard to work on). Just put everything back the same way you took it off. I hope this helps.

Once you have the door panels off, drill out the two rivets holding the window to the regulator.Pull out the window( you might have to remove the plastic spacers that the rivets attached to,they pop together from either side) and you might also have to move the felt brace at the top.Put the new window in, making sure it is in the front track.Using 1/4" bolts with either lock washers or nylon lock nuts re-attach the window to the regulator.Unless you have real skinny hands, use a needle nose vice-grip to hold the head of the bolt as you insert it from the back and while you tighten the nuts.
