Can anyone help me. There is a Capri just up the orad here from my buddies house. Dark blue ish, under a tarp, but I can tell by lookin at the shape of the tarp that it's a vert. How rare are Capri verts? Like, try and get it from him rare, or no? he's already basterdized it by glueing a pony emblem on the front :roll: anywho, someone get back to me on it.

Hey there, snap pics if you can. It is likely that the car is an asc/McLaren. They made 50 verts in 84, 257 in 85, and 245 in 86. That will give you an idea of its rarity. There was also an early Capri vert done by I think Andy A. Hotton, but the only one of these I have seen was a 79 model.

Ayep, its probably one of less than 300 made no matter what year.

But again beware...look over the parts and see whats missing. If you're not hung up on going back to a true asc (assuming it is one) then you may be ok with some run of the mill body work and junk yard parts. You will most likely need to shell out some $$$ for the special top though if its trashed. The door panels, console and seats are very special items too and if they're wasted, you'll need to go back to normal Ford replacements or shell out more big $$$ for real asc stuff.

Even so, it would be better that it get into somebody's hands that can appreciate it. At least knock that pony emblem off next time you're over there.

i would put money its just a stang with capri fenders or somthing

I have moved, and I don't have a lot of time anymore to surf forums and what not, also am on Dial-Up. I'm just sticking to my most used forums for now, til I get more time on the computer, and get me a cable connection.


And I never did get a pic of the car, but I am pretty sure it was a Capri, not a Mustang with Capri front.
