I for one would like to see some pics of rare four eyes!
Question though... HOW do you 'know' all this stuff? Do you have any "real" production numbers?

I have researched all this stuff through the web and have talked to people that have the cars at shows and read about it in books and articles. Some of the info is a little questionable. But most of the stuff is from registries and actually people that had concrete info.
All post some pics in a second.

Here is what I have on the Mustang IMSA.
The Mustang IMSA
According to the Ford press release the Mustang IMSA was a one-of-akind
high-performance type concept car that was built to project the
performance image of cars competing on the International Motor Sports
Assoc (IMSA) circuit and was displayed at major auto shows during
1980. The car had an impressive for then .418 aerodynamic drag
coefficient which was obtained through numerous exterior modifications.
Turn signals and auxilliary driving lamps were neatly blended into
the redesigned air dam through the use of smoked plasic covers. Clear
plastic covers the car's quad halogen headlamps and contributes to
its aerodynamically "slippery nose". Special wide fender flares were
used to route air smoothly around the super-wide Pirelli P7 tyres.
It even had clear plastic covers on the Gotti 12-by-15-inch moular
wheels to reduce air turbulence.
The smoke-tinted side windows were mounted flush with roof rails to
further reduce drag. The door windows were hinged at the top and the
rear side windows were stationary. A special full-width rear
deck-mounted wing spoiler improved high speed stability. A unique hood
design included air-extractor lovuvers and an engine-mounted "shaker".
The raised center portion at the rear of the hood incorporated a
special warning light module that could be seen by the driver without
taking their eyes of the road. These included indicators for turn
signals, turbo boost, high-beam headlamps and engine temperature.
A unique full-width taillamp assembly accented with bold "MUSTANG"
lettering highlighted the rear of the car. A single rear-facing
driving lamp functioned as a back-up lamp. The Mustang IMSA was
finished in a shimmering pearlescent white paint with bold accent
striping in orange and gold that dramatized the car's crisp, flowing
lines.
I didn't write that, cut and paste action.

Here are some 1985 Twister 2 pistures from a show and a little information on them.
In 1985 Ford and the Kansas City district sales office once again

either White or Medium Canyon Red. Other features include 5.0 HO

quad-shocks in the rear, and dual exhaust.

5.0L 5-speed convertibles (4V carb) - 9
5.0L AOD (automatic) convertibles (CFI) - 5

Hi there,
In order to determine how to use your information and give credit where it's due, we need you to cite your sources.
If the information is coming from the webpages of others, we'll need the URLs and we'll link to them as it's what's appropriate. If it is from books or other publications, we'll need to know which ones from when.
Certainly it's of interest and we appreciate any good information we can get. We just need to be able to use it properly.
Thanks!

Yes, I have seen a LOT of sites, and done my fair share of research on certain stangs... But I still don't beleive a word of it. There is no certain info, unless it comes straight from Ford, and even then, who knows, right?
Most sites I won't even bother with their numbers (like mine for example :D ) All the numbers I got for my sites were from a few books of mine, which I cross checked with some sites, and they is still wrong..but I never update it anymore anyways.. Almost all numbers were off. Though the ones from this site, seem to be what everyone else has as well, so as accurate as can be. Any 'accurate' info you can give is great though.

Well I will go ahead and keep loading a couple cars at a time. The information I have I didn't keep track of where I found it. And yea I know what you mean "accurate". It's hard to find the good stuff but I'll post what I have none the less.

Obviously two different vehicles. One is red, the other is white (look closely at the firewall).

The last picture looks like an engine from 1984 car...the belt tensioner is different than the 1985 Twister.

OOPS  The last picture is from some other car. They are pictures that I took at the Mid-America Shelby Meet 2002. I thought that last one was the twister, but the belt tensioner is different??? Please explain, my 85GT had that one. I think? I have one more picture of the twister from the cover of a hotrod magizine in 1987.

The belt tensioner on my 1985 asc is like this 1986 one:
http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~st947g38/myfriends/MikeNewWeb/PicturesPages/CarShow/Engine2.htm
The front face is totally different. This is also the same one as in the pic with the red twister.
The last pic with the white firewall has an earlier style tensioner with more of a smooth face to it. This is before 1985...not sure which year. Maybe it was a running change in 1985, but usually I see them on earlier cars.

wait a tick! your right  mine does have the different face on it. I remember taping it off when i painted the engine. Yep you got me, my dads 1983 GT is like that. I who knows about the running change. I'm sure there were a few left overs that they threw on the early 85's. Hmm yep, I think that third picture is from an 84 saleen, not sure though is that viable? Hmm I remember one at the show, maybe maybe not who knows.
