Ok so i have a 84 gt vert, white red interior everything but leather. so i have a few questions.
here is the info on the car. I purchased it about a year ago and haven't done a thing to it untill recently. When i purchased the car it had a 91 lx front clip on it and the wrong color paint. Ihave fixed the power windows and several other small items. it currently has a 85 lx front clip on it. The car is a 5spd 4v car that is otherwise in great shape. so here are my ?s

#1 I noticed that their were only 6k + made. How many 5spd cars were their compared to the auto efi cars?

#2 Should i keep the car original? The plan was for a efi swap with a roller cam motor, five lug big brakes etc etc but keep the exterior and interior original.

I am very attached to this car and dont have enough room for another one at this time. I have already purchased a roller motor and tranny (rebuilt) a 86 underdash harness, 91 underhood harness, cobra mass air kit (24lbers ecu 7omm maf performer intake etc etc) so i have 70% of the parts to complete the swap and a willwood 13inch 5 lug front disc kit. So as you can see i have a little bit invested in the car as it stands. But if the car is rare enough to make it worth while to take back to original i am willing to do so and would just save all the efi parts etc for another project. Any thought and or suggestions.. Your opinions count and i will take them seriosly...ok thanks...later..kyle

1984 GT convertible: 6,226

Can't really break that down between what came with which transmission, I think only the GT350's were broken down with transmissions.

As for keeping it original... Do what YOU want with the car. It's your car, do with it what will make you happy. You said it already has an 85 lx front, so right there the exterior isn't original. Just do what you want with it. If it makes you happy, that's all that counts, don't make a car to impress others.

Well i want a original fox car. And i found a yellow 79 cobra that is perfect with 67k miles on it. The car is for sale but it is'nt if you know what i mean. Thats why i want to go efi etc on the vert and then get the cobra as my factory original car. Any more suggestions..

Have you ever looked into if its a Gt350?

Was the front wrecked or did they just hang a new bumper on? Body buck tag still on the core support? If it is , see if it says "ANN" or "GT" in the lower corner.

thanks annyguy but i already ran the vin accross you once on turboford and the buck tag has GT in it. otherwise it looks just like a anny car and it even had some sort of plaque on the glove box at one time, the glue is still their. thanks again ...kyle
