View Full Version : Chrome on Capri grill?

I have a 86 Capri with a chrome insert on the face of the grill. What years did they come on? Were they a option? I have not seen another car in person with the chrome grill.

The 85 GS I used to own had a chrome on the grille.

I think mine originally had chrome on it,But I painted it black years ago

HUMM? My 83 RS does not have it. GS option? I know the 86 US cars were not really RS or GS modles. Maybe it was just a trim option that carried over.

Anybody else?

my 80 and 85 both have chrome stripes on the grill

I don't think so. My 86 is a original V8 car. When I purchased the car 2 years ago the only thing that was changed on the car was the tires. Original down to the spark plugs and wires on the car. They were dated 85/86.

86..Mine is a GS,but also wears all the RS style air dam etc..with NO RS identification,as it was not available in the U.S.Canada had the RS for 86.But I thought all V8 cars sold were like equipped.Again,I think mine had the chrome grille--possibly a GS thing?
