Has anyone done this? I picked one up at a local JY today, and it happens to be the exact color as my 84...so i'm thinking of adding it today. My hatch even has the bolts holes there. Seems as if originally had this spoiler and then removed and they added a 87-93 GT spoiler.
What are your thoughts on this? Ya?NAy? i'm gonna added it either way, but i'd like to get some feedback on this...

I say to go for it. Believe it or not, that spoiler was also installed on '83 GT's, and some '84 GT's as well. I have the same one, and I took it off an early model '84. I had to drill my own holes, but it looks good. Good luck.

That's right. That "spolier" was a running change in '84 along with the bumper with foglight openings and hood scoop-less hood.

Ok, added the spoiler last night. Looks nice, just as I had hoped. Too bad now i have to weld shut holes from the GT spoiler that was on there :(

I have considered going with a '93 Cobra "spoiler" on my '83 GT but only if i can fill the CHMSL hole and make it look like it was never there. BUT, I do like the vintage look of the three-piece "spoiler" on the '79-early '84 hatchbacks.

Isn't the CHMSL hole small? can't it be bondo'ed' right up? I've heard some people doing that...
I too considered that spoiler... that's nice....

What's strange is that Ford didn't equip the '79 Cobras with them. My Cobra looked pretty silly without one, that's why I added it. Boy, does it look better now. :)
