86 MERCURY CAPRI RS HELP?

IVE GOT AN 86 CAPRI RS BLACK 5.0 5SPD T TOP, WITH RED INTERIOR, SOMEONE EMAILED ME WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR TELLING ME IT WAS ONE OF 30 SOMETHING, ANY IDEAS? THANKS!!! 8)

well the only rare set of 30 would be the 85 mclaren Grand prix IV pace cars

if so awesome if not the we need a little more info to help

also, the only 'RS' models for the 86 year were built for canada, so if your car has kilometers as the main unit on the speedo, and was built in canada the its an RS, if not you got lied to by the guy who sold it to you

You can also determine if it was a Canadian car by checking the DSO on the door tag. There will be a couple of numbers under DSO, and that will tell you the region it was delivered to. Also, look for the buck tag on the radiator support of the car. They can be in other places on the radiator support, so look closely at the entire area. There's of course no guarantee that the thing is still there after all these years, though. If it's an RS, it'll have RS stamped on the buck tag like how mine is.

There are a lot of self-professed "experts" out there that like to make up numbers. No one has all the answers, and usually if they claim they do, they really don't.
