79 pace car recaro question

Anyone know where I can find the material to redo some recaro buckets out of a 79 pace car?

Hahaha, thats not very comforting. If thats the case how could anyone ever restore a pace car? You have to be able to get this stuff somewhere right?

Evlgt85 is right. It is extremely hard to find that material. Keep on searching though, as you may get lucky in your quest.

I just wanted to say I myslef have a pace car that ive been working on for the past three years, and i would like to know what to do about my recaro seats i would like to see them new again. Matt

:? In all my searching I did come across someones website that did it. I'll search for it again. They said it was very difficult. Maybe I can find the link. I'll let you know.

:cry: Well I searched high and low with out luck. It seems it was available to about '98 and has since vanished. It is out there somewhere, but I can't say where.

Bits of that fabric come up occasionally on eBay, and sell for lotsa dough. It really can't be found, certainly not for ordinary money. Your best bet (unless cost/time is no object) is to have your seats redone in black or whatever and wait for someone to make the stuff.

I have some of that material :o) I say that to tease, because no, it is not for sale. I found it ( both the black and the center black/white) material in 1990. It was tough to find even then and...$80 a yard then :o)

So what is the correct material or a set or redone seats worth??? I have both and am considering selling on ebay. Rather than restoring my pace car i just bought a 29k mile one ,pics in album. I will give you guys first crack at them if the price is right. If not well ill decide to keep or let them go up for sell on ebay.

Last nice set went for $660 on ebay. Bothe front and rear seats. Where are you located? I may be interested. I'm in Toronto, Canada.
