My Dad keeps telling me I should restore my stang to matching numbers, because it's a limited edition and would be worth more.
But exactly how limited is it?
It's a 1979 Ford Mustang Ghia 5.0
Came with power brakes, power locks, power steering, air, tilt, cruise, auto, leather, pop-up sunroof.
Thanks! :)

Not terribly. It's not really a desirable model despite it's limited numbers. I like to stress to people to get into these cars because they love them, not because of potential dollar signs. The ones that will really appreciate in value will be 79-81 Cobras, 79 PCs, 82 GTs, and so on.
Keep the car true to it's heritage and identity and have fun with it. Don't stress over matching numbers. Besides, you can always keep everything you take off the car in case you do want to restore it to pure stock. As long as you don't destroy any pieces or mess with sheet metal, it's not a big deal.
Drive it, love it, enjoy it!
And, no, we don't have any Ghia 5.0 #s specifically that I know of. :(
Your car does have a nice list of options, though.
Ghias weren't really a limited edition. In 79, the trim levels were:
Mustang (base model)
Ghia (luxo model)
Cobra (sport model)
That's it. You can bet that there are few 5.0 Ghia survivors out there these days, though. I think it's pretty darn cool myself, but unless the car is very pure and untouched and in very good condition for an unrestored car, I'd just have fun with the thing, toss some easily reversible mods on here and there and enjoy it.

Ghias simply had nice interiors... and no spoiler I beleive... nothing really special about them. I say do what you WANT with the car, you can always keep the original parts and put them back on when/if needed. Enjoy your car the way you want to.
My 82 GT, stock for now, but I want to mod it, and when the money comes, I will. I will keep everything on it, and won't be changing the interior... though I get **** sound outa that stock cassette deck
But a 4-bbl setup with an h-pipe will be coming.

That's cool, thanks for the info, guys!
I'm not really a fan of matching numbers on this car... there doesn't seem to be much fun in that. Besides, the value of the car only really matters if you are looking at selling it, which I don't want to do.
This car was bought by my mother, for my Dad, the year I was born. There's more sentimental value than anything else.
Thanks again!

I've got a 79 Ghia Hacthback also. Although mine has the 302 and no power options or A/C. It has the TRX Suspension and what not and I got it with only 99,000km on it too. :)
