Hello all, i bought my car 6 years ago, i live in mexico my car is called a Mustang here "Mustang 84 GT" i had problems trying to find pics of my car in the internet so one day i was chating with a friend and he told me than my car was called MERCURY CAPRI but he say than the front part of my car is diferent to all... well iddno, i just know than i luv my car,. check out my web site there u can see pics of my car, i have to update the pics i made some modifications lately :)

your car is a capri as far as I can tell, except that you have a mustang front end. Apart from that, the bubble hatch, the flared fenders and such are capri through and through

I think DRSVO has a similar car from mexico, although his profile says Houston now.
I kinda like the look of the south of the border capri.

Behold the mystery that is a Mexican Mustang. As far as anyone can tell, Ford decided to get rid of spare parts and configurations in other markets such as Canada and Mexico. Apparently, they decided to give "Mustangs" Capri bodies when they were hatches and give them Capri noses when they were coupes....go fig. I have a link to some pics DrSvo was kind enough to take for me when he lived in Mexico. Give me a bit and I'll find it.

Regardless, JetFX, it's great to see you on the board and we very much look forward to seeing you post. More pictures are especially welcome!

I think the Mexican Mustangs/Capris were built in the Chuatitlan Plant(Mexico City). I did a job at this plant in the foundry casting engine blocks,heads,cams & cranks. Even in the early days of the Fox bodies I saw different combos of Capri-Stangs or Stang-Capris I even saw a capri coupe. I don't know what they did on the assembly line but I saw a lot of different combos when I was down there.

I was at the Ford Cleveland casting plant when they had a probe/mustang. Half the car said mustang the other half said probe, it almost became the stang. Ford decided that america would not my a Jap Stang, so it became the probe.

I've seen alot of different Ford cars at different plants.
