I think that something is wrong...... the car came with the turbo, it is a Mercury Capri RS Turbo. are you sure that the code is OK?

Does the original door tag still exist on the car?

All decoders I have list A as a naturally aspirated, non-turbo engine code. Turbo RSes would have W as the engine code.

Try to either take a good picture of the door tag or record everything as it is on there.

Also, take a look at the core support/radiator support on the car. If you can find it and write down all the codes on that, it's further documentation about what the car is and is not.

The thing is, you could get the RS package with any available motor.
