i have been looking for a good fiberglass hood... the only one i have found is a 4" cowl - 8O - a little big for my tastes.

i was HOPING to find a stock height or factory forward scoop style hood in fiberglass...

any ideas.

i know some people say you can cut out the unnecessary braces to safely lose 20# from the factory steel hood - so i may try that... but i'd really like to keep the factory scoop :)

any leads?

Try contacting www.maierracing.com or www.usbodysource.com. Bill Maier made the hood on my Capri so he deals in the less common stuff. You might also look for Harwood Fiberglass.

I doubt most places will list anything so you might be better off calling and talking to a real person.

thanks! i think i'm gonna get one of those stock height hoods and modify it for the factory hood scoop :)

it is hard to find people that make stock looking lightweight parts for "off-years"

that's great man!

one more thing - how was the fit quality of the maier hood? they are cheaper than US body source and US hoods require trimming (ie they are unfinished) so maier looks like the better deal as long as they fit perfect out of the box.

You can always get the Pace Care hood - I bought mine from Paddock
