the raised hood thing?

ok i was wandering if i could put that raised hood thing (a cowl) that came standard on the capri rs on the regular capri hood my capri is a 81
(update) my smog pumps making loud noises :cry: it will probably die and just more reason for my dad wanting me to sell the car. oh well

There are two hood treatments that the Capris got over the years. There was a hood scoop and a hood bulge. There wasn't anything different about the cowls of the Capris from the Mustangs, however.

Are you talking about the bulge or the scoop? I can post pictures of the different kinds.

BTW, smog pumps are very easy to change out. If the smog pump locks up, you'll burn through the belt and then it gets REALLY fun if you're driving the thing around.

also i think the chrome around the head lights and grill look dumb so i think i should spray paint them black if this is bad tell me. and i want the bulge on my car i think it look very good :D

that bulge just bolts on, If you want to paint the grill and headlight buckets, be sure to scuff them down first.

As for the smog pump? where do you live, you may just be able to pull that and the cat off.
