Sometime ago I came across a post and I cant remember who posted it however it had a pic of the front clip cut about 2 inches below the molding and he described how he installed his air dam with some kind of adhesive and then screwed it on till it dried and then removed the screws and filled them...My question is what kind of adhesive did they use and where did they get it. I just got my xenon and want to install so it looks good. If anybody has a differnt way please let me know...Thanks Dale
This is my first post and I love the site.....Thanks Four Eyed

That was probably related to my Capri. I have the Xenon air dam and used the adhesive and screws technique to attach it. To be honest, I don't remember what kind of adhesive we used other than it was a 2 part flexible adhesive that took about 24 hours to set. I'm sure it's commonly available from most auto paint stores.

We trimmed the stock bumper cover a few inches below the main beltline/molding, scuffed the bumper cover with some rough sandpaper, and then applied the glue. While a couple guys held it in place, someone else went around and ran sheetmetal style screws through it about an inch below the top edge to secure it and keep it from warping. We then ran a bead of the glue along the top edge to fill in the gap between the top edge of the air dam and the bottom edge of the molding. After a day or two, we removed the screws and filled in the holes with the glue. Lastly, I had the joyous task of sanding everything down until it blended. But the finished result is worth the time spent I think.

I've done this too, and it's easier for one person to do when the bumper is off the car. I haven't put the new bumper and airdam on yet, cause I need to put a new radiator support on first. Not enough time to do it lately, too much school and work.... It will happen eventually though.

We need a current close up of it down so other people can see before and after! :)

IS the Maier hood finished underneath?

Thanks,

It can be if you ask for it. They will make it to order. I was offered a choice of carbon fiber for my hood and that was 9 years ago.

I guess Im just primitive. When I put on my A&A airdam(Almosat identical to the Xenon one at the time) I glued it then used aluminum rivets and just painted over the rivets for that functional race car look. Did the Xenon rear spoiler the same way. Actually got lots of compliments on it.
