Did they make any two tone cars in 85? Was that an option? Or were all the cars single colors?

Thanks,

Dan

Yep, 85 and 86. Seldom seen on either year, but more commonly seen on the 86s than 85s.

Thanks! Called on a car today that is grey on grey. I've never seen one that color and wanted to make sure it was the original paint (or at least paint scheme). Anybody have any pics of one?

Is it advertised as "grey on grey" or is it specifically mentioned that it's a different shade of grey under the big moulding strip?

The guy I talked to said it was a different color grey below the molding. That's about all the info I have on it. He's supposed to send me some pictures of it, but nothing so far. Figures... So far almost every car I've emailed about, the people either don't respond or respond once and you never hear from them again. Aggravating!!!

I've decided I'm going to hold out for a grey 85 GT. That's what I want and I'm not in any super big hurry. I like the looks of the 85-86 GTs, but want the carb. So far it's been slim pickin's. Now if I wanted a red 85....lol

Here's the ad:

1985 GT 5/0 H/O 31,000 actual miles, the last year for carbuerater, the first year for 5 speed, this is a very nice car.Only 4,000 miles in the last 5 years. Serious enquires only please

He's asking $7500 OBO. That sound about in line with what you guys would expect?

For a REAL low mileage 85 GT, that's a damn good price. So long as the car really is what he's advertising it as.

I hear ya bout red 85 GTs. EVERYONE has a red 85 GT. I swear 90% of the GTs in 85 had to have been red. "hey, I've got an 85 GT, too!" "Oh yeh? Is it red?" "Wow! How'd you know??" LOL!

Yeah that sounds like its grey inside and out to me. I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

The seller must be mistaken about it being the first year of the 5-speed. Back in 83 Ford had the 5-speed as an option. The 4-speed was standard, but they did offer the 5-speed in 83 & 84. So really the first year of the 5-speed was 83. Not that it matters all that much.

Nah, it's two-tone grey. I clarified that. The car does have grey interior though, but he was definitely referring to two-tone since I specifically asked him that.
